Find out more about Britain's Bayeux Tapestry

The replica Bayeux Tapestry at Reading Museum was masterfully produced in the 1890s by the Leek Embroidery Society. This was a group of women in Victorian Staffordshire who believed that Britain should have its own version of this incredible artwork that tells the story of an important chapter in English history.

On the Reading Museum website, explore and find out more about Britain's Bayeux Tapestry. Alternatively, take a look at our online shop and browse our range of Bayeux products, including our book 'Reading's Bayeux Tapestry', produced for Reading Museum by Reading publishers Two Rivers Press.
